100 years of Hänsel

Time goes by - Hänsel Textil remains. The company was founded in 1908. Over the decades, it has borne witness to a varied history and impressive growth.

The textile manufacturing company founded by Oswald Hänsel - the man who registered a patent for the automated production of horsehair yarn - has now grown into a global corporation.


2008

 

- Interlinings inspired by nature - soft, light and transparent, developed for large and small parts of ladies jackets, dresses and blouses, reinforcement for transparent outer fabrics, elastic waistband for trousers and skirts,  cuffs and collars of ladies shirts

2003

 

- The launch of the Multiple Choice Collection: tried-and-tested Hänsel articles with a brand new coating that can withstand extreme loads and finishing processes.

Since 1992

 

- Mass production of fusible interlinings: commencement of production of light and ultra-light woven fusible interlinings (mono and multi-elastic)

1973/1974    - Hänsel developed a complete programme of woven and knitted interlinings
1969/1970    - The first graduated interlining – „Trizonal“ of Hänsel, today our „AIROTHERM“ product, was presented on the market.
1967    - The first fusible interlinings coated with PVC paste point came on the scene.
1960/1930    - The first kinds of fusibles were introduced by the „TRUBENIZE“ method. This was an interlining with a polyethylene spray coating for fusing small parts.
1912-1925    - Leading position of Hänsel on the world market. In a high quality suit or costume you would find Hänsel inside either elaborated from piece goods or from prefabricated composites known as „complets“.
1910    - Hänsel became acquainted with horse hair for interlinings and Mr. Hänsel developed a machine and method to produce endless twisted horse hair yarn which was patented world wide.
1908    - Bruno Henschke joined forces with Oswald Hänsel and in 1908 they founded a joint company. It was named Henschke & Co Hänsel Rosshaar. A name that existed, if slightly altered, to the present day.
